Outstanding Charitable Artistes Award 2008: Myolie Wu

Myolie Wu started her new chapter in the entertainment industry after winning the second-runner-up title of Miss Hong Kong at 19 when she was studying biochemistry in HKUST. Her cheerful character, healthy image and devotion to the showbiz earned her jobs together with social responsibilities from charitable organizations.

Working as spokespersons for many government departments and social groups, Wu has never lessened her efforts in charitable work. As an ambassador for Oxfam for two consecutive years, Wu not only help raise fund from charitable sale in Hong Kong but also paid a visit to Pingliang in Gansu Province in the Mainland to evaluate how the tailor- made Oxfam project would help improve their lives and better their environment. This year, Wu is appointed Ambassador of Po Leung Kuk Rehabilitation Services Sponsorship Programme and her task is to advocate supports from the public for the provision of quality accommodation, skilful training and auxiliary medical and social rehabilitation support services to the mentally disabled.
